This certainly qualifies as a surprise since Seager was expected to be ready to roll for Tuesday’s highly-anticipated showdown at Dodger Stadium after getting a couple games off to address a mild hamstring injury. The 30-year-old fantasy superstar will miss his fourth straight contest and remains day-to-day for the moment.

Joey Ortiz has been scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to right hamstring soreness.

Not great. Ortiz has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last few weeks, batting .298 (31-for-104) with four homers, 15 RBI and three steals over his last 30 games. The hope here is that his absence for Tuesday’s contest against the Blue Jays is merely out of an abundance of caution. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Hill has the ability to elect free agency, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him explore a new opportunity elsewhere. The 28-year-old outfielder went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week by the defending World Series champions.

Matt Chapman (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Astros.

As expected, Chapman is back at third base and batting cleanup on Tuesday night following a two-game absence due to a relatively minor hamstring issue. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward.

White Sox selected the contract of RHP Drew Thorpe from Double-A Birmingham.

Thorpe will make his highly-anticipated major-league debut on Tuesday evening against the Mariners at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. The 23-year-old top pitching prospect, who was the crown jewel of the preseason Dylan Cease trade with the Padres following his inclusion in the Juan Soto blockbuster with the Yankees a few months earlier, gets the call after posting a microscopic 1.35 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 56/17 K/BB ratio across 60 innings this season for Double-A Birmingham. His fastball isn’t overpowering, but he boasts one of the best change-ups in baseball and figures to miss plenty of bats at the highest level. He’s worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats until further notice.

CWS Relief Pitcher #67

White Sox optioned LHP Sammy Peralta to Triple-A Charlotte.

Peralta made just one relief appearance for the White Sox after being called up last weekend from the minors. The 26-year-old southpaw will head back down to wait for another opportunity at the highest level.

CWS Relief Pitcher #55

White Sox transferred RHP Dominic Leone to the 60-day injured list.

The procedural move opens up a spot on Chicago’s 40-man roster for top pitching prospect Drew Thorpe. Leone has been on the shelf since late May due to right elbow inflammation and remains without a timetable to return.
Randy Arozarena

TB Left Fielder #56

Randy Arozarena was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to right hamstring tightness.

Not good. Arozarena will presumably undergo some additional imaging after being scratched from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Cubs to determine the severity of the issue. The 29-year-old corner outfielder has gotten off to an abysmal start to the season with a .604 OPS with eight homers and seven steals across 264 plate appearances in 64 games. There should be an official update on his status shortly. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
Cesar Salazar

HOU Catcher #18

Astros recalled C César Salazar from Triple-A Sugar Land.

Salazar provides Houston with some emergency catching depth with starter Yainer Diaz dealing with a finger injury. The 28-year-old backstop got into 13 games last year as a rookie.
Joey Loperfido

HOU Center Fielder #10

Astros optioned OF Joey Loperfido to Triple-A Sugar Land.

As expected, Loperfido heads back to the minors with Houston bringing up some extra emergency catching depth. The 25-year-old top prospect has held his own in 15 games in the majors so far and probably deserves to get an extended opportunity at this point. Unfortunately, fantasy managers will have to wait a bit longer.
